What methods have you tried from the Windows help solution? I would suggest you to check whether the software is compatible with Windows 8, with the help of the given link. If it’s not compatible then I would suggest you to install in compatibility mode. Steps: a) Press the ‘ Windows + W’ key on the keyboard. B) Type compatibility in the search box and then press enter.
C) Click “ Run programs made for previous versions of Windows” option from the list appeared in the left side. D) Select the Software and install.

The error message I get is: 'The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.' I have checked the event log and it is not helpful. I have also done a search for other solutions and it involves going into the registry and changing the runtime C++ component version number.
I have done this even with a search finding all the C++ version numbers and changing them and it has not worked. I have tried a few other minor changes, but nothing has worked.
The windows alternative compatibility change has also not worked. Any other solution you would propose would be appreciated.
